SBSettings Like App for MAC OS X Called Quick Toggle (Review)

Almost every one of you having an iPhone must be aware of the awesome tweak called SBSettings, the Jailbreak Tweak from Cydia by which you can do amazing things by just one swipe. You can put on many actions using Activator, the part of the Tweak and you can restart your iPhone, power off it, respring it, and you can do much more than you ever expected from an iPhone. SBSettings these days is a great helper for iPhone competing with its competitor Tweak called BBSettings. BBSettings provides more function than the SBSettings; still some of the people are very compatible with SBSettings.

Like this, Marriellen Sheridan, the developer inspired by this Jailbreak Tweak called SBSettings made a same App for MAC OS X called Quick Toggles, that allows a user to have some of the matching functions on their MAC OS X, like they have on their iPhone with SBSettings. Not all the features of SBSettings would be found in this App because it has just been released two days back and a lot of work will be required to integrate all the same functions as SBSettings for MAC OS X.

Anyhow the App, Quick Toggles allows you perform complex tasks in an easy way with the help of a simple click in the status bar. With Quick Toggles installed on your MAC OS X, you can do many things like show IP Address of the Network you are connected on, CPU Stats, RAM Stats, App Shortcuts, see System Information, control iTunes, and much more.

Quick Toggle allows you free up the RAM that is not in use, also allows you to clear the DNS Cache, got the dedicated iTunes button by which you can play, skip, pause a song, and it got App Shortcuts for those App, which we use, in our daily busy life. The Apps are, Mail.App, Internet, System Preferences, and Text Edit.

You get all the settings under one icon of Quick Toggles for your MAC OS X.

The App was released on 14th of May and we may consider it in its beta stages. We hope that the future update of this App brings more new features in the App for the MAC OS X.

The App costs $2.59 in the New Zealand MAC App Store. You can download the App from MAC App Store from here.

Before you plan to buy this App, you can see the video of this App in action of MAC OS X:

  • Pod2g’s Jailbreak Drops iPod 3G, iPhone 3GS out in Updated FAQ’s

Pod2g’s Jailbreak Drops iPod 3G, iPhone 3GS out in Updated FAQ’s

While waiting for the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1.x from @pod2g, we were expecting the release soon and for all the iDevices out there including old devices. Sadly, today @pod2g, the iOS hacker announced that the Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 3GS, iPod 3G won’t be arriving with the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1.x. The support of the Untethered Jailbreak will be for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 2, and iPad 3 on iOS 5.1.x. He told this sad news on his blog by updating the FAQ area.

5.1.x untethered jailbreak FAQ I receive lots of questions either by email or twitter about the 5.1.x untethered jailbreak. Here are some answers :

      • The poll about releasing now or waiting for 6.0 ended with a 64% / 33% to release ASAP. Where is the link ? ETA ? How much % done ? etc. As I said earlier in twitter, there’s still a lot to do to have a user friendly and well tested tool to install the jailbreak on end users devices. Expect a release in a couple of weeks.

    • Will it be compatible with my <any random iOS device> ? It will be compatible with any device running iOS 5.1.1 except iPod 3G, iPhone 3Gs and ATV3 (right now, may change in a near future, nobody knows).

    • Why is it so slow to release now that the iPad 3,1 has been demoed ? There are 16 different devices out there to work on and to test. It takes time.

    • May I be a beta tester ? No, sorry. Only really trusted people (that can be counted on one hand) could have access to the jailbreak. I don’t want any leak to happen.

    • What if I offer you 1,000,000$ ? That doesn’t change a thing.

Be patient, it’s gonna happen.   See you my friends. After this, He Tweeted on his Twitter account that the Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 3GS, iPod 3G will be missed in the upcoming release.

The reason he told about the drop off for iPod 3G, iPhone 3GS for the untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1.x is that he tested on them and the Kernel Vulnerability is not happening on these devices. This means that these iDevices are out of the league of Untethered Jailbreak. Not only these two, ATV 3 (Apple TV 3) is also out of the league for the time being because he needs to do some work on it to make it Untethered.

As far as the release is concerned, expect the Untethered Jailbreak to debut in couple of weeks that are approximately two weeks or less. @Pod2g needs to test the Untethered Jailbreak on his hand to make sure that the Untethered Jailbreak works fine and it is complete user friendly for the release. Once the Jailbreak is ready, it will be out for public. He cannot chose some random testers for the untethered jailbreak because last time @Comex’s user land exploit was leaked in public and got fixed by Apple in the next iOS update. Due to this reason, Pod2g cannot rely on any one other than a very trusted person. Once the testing is done, the release would be done.

All we have to do is just wait for few weeks and then we will have the Untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.x on all the iDevices except, iPhone 3GS, iPod 3G, and ATV3.

Redsn0w 0.9.11b2 Released to Downgrade iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1(9A406)

The day before The Dev-Team released the method to downgrade iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and iPad 3 from newer iOS version to older one. They missed the build of iPhone 4S, 5.0.1 (9A406) that Apple released after iOS 5.0.1 (9A405) only for iPhone 4S to fix some issues that were caused by the previous version of iOS. In the last release those people were released and now with this new update, they are able to downgrade back to iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) only with SHSH blobs saved.

  • Pod2g Makes iPad 3 Untethered Jailbreak, Next Target iOS 5.1.1

Pod2g Makes iPad 3 Untethered Jailbreak, Next Target iOS 5.1.1

Today we are going to tell you about some amazing progress going in the world of Jailbreak. Few days back, we told you about the Untethered Jailbreak done by @i0n1c on his iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1 and today @pod2g, the Chronic-Dev Team member actively working on the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 on all devices announced on his Twitter account that he has made some significant progress regarding the Jailbreak for the New iPad. The progress is that he has managed the New iPad to run up Untethered Jailbreak on iOS 5.1.

Another amazing thing is that, after stabilizing the Untethered Jailbreak for iPad 3, he will be moving onto iOS 5.1.1 to test the playload on it and make it Untethered Jailbreak on it also. Do remember that Apple released iOS 5.1.1 two days back. We also warned you that not to update to the new iOS, in order to retain the Untethered Jailbreak.

The rapid progress of Untethered jailbreak with awesome news makes us feel that the heat is on and it will be coming soon to our devices later this month. At first @pod2g, did a poll on his web asking to wait for the iOS 6 and then burn the exploits or release the Jailbreak now for iOS 5.1 and burn the exploits. The winning option was to release the Jailbreak now and don’t wait for iOS 6.

This means that the Untethered Jailbreak is being worked on success is on its way. Don’t forget to appreciate what @pod2g is doing. Do remember that he is doing for free and it will take time for him to come up with a proper Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.1.1.

The story hasn’t ended yet. If you got the SHSH Blobs for iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and the New iPad, you can downgrade your iDevice from newer version to previous one with the help of Redsn0w 0.9.11b1 which is on its way by @MuscleNerd. He is currently testing the procedure to make it safe for public use.
