P0sixninja Finds iOS 7 Jailbreak Prior to iOS 7 Beta 1 Release

P0sixninja finds iOS 7 Jailbreak prior to official release of iOS 7 planned for this fall. The final iOS 7 Jailbreak needs some code signing and the work is done.

Joshua Hill, also known as P0sixninja was working on iOS 7 Jailbreak from a long time and today on his twitter account he told that only few more steps are left for the proper iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak. In the last week of March, we told you about the news of iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak is being worked on solely by P0sixninja and he might release the iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak when iOS 7 is released for public. At that time, P0sixninja was working on BootRom level exploits for A5 and above processors.

The goal of BootRom level exploits was achieved or not, we are not aware this issue because nothing is cited by Joshua until now on that thing. However, the iOS 7 Jailbreak is almost ready by P0sixninja prior to iOS 7 official release planned for this fall. Later today, @P0sixninja on this official Twitter account replied to some one stating that codesign exploit is in the works and iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak is all his after all the hard work done by him.

P0sixninja after separating from The Chronic-Dev Team has gained a good lead against it competitors like Evad3rs. Joshua Hill, alone has made a significant progress on the iOS 7 Jailbreak prior to official release and even prior to iOS 7 Beta 1 release.

As per our experience, don’t put your faith in this pre-iOS 7 Jailbreak because the fruit company is making plans on making iOS Open Source for third party developers. This decision could kill the need of Jailbreak for future iOS versions like iOS 7 and beyond. Moreover, this pre-iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak exploits can be patched from time to time and from beta to beta version. Every new iOS 7 Beta versions will be coming up with a fix for sure. Therefore, keep your hopes low and let the show begin.

The show begins on June 10, 2013 at 10:00AM PDT.

  • No iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak, We will Jailbreak iOS 6.2 if Released – Pod2g

No iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak, We will Jailbreak iOS 6.2 if Released – Pod2g

We have no plans on releasing iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak because it would be minor update, indeed we are waiting for major update like iOS 6.2. To make an iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak would require heavy efforts for this minimal update that is not worth it.

People who updated on iOS 6.1.3 or bought an iPhone/iPod/iPad on iOS 6.1.3 would need to wait a bit longer for the Jailbreak of it because the Evad3rs are not working on iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak. Recently pod2g, the upfront member of the Evad3rs and finder of exploits for iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak responded a person on his twitter account when asked about the iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak progress. The person asked Pod2g, if the team is working on the Jailbreak of iOS 6.1.3 or not. Pod2g in reply told the person that the team is not working on the Jailbreak of iOS 6.1.3 because it is not worth it to Jailbreak.

It is a minimal update and working on it is equivalent to wasting time on something irrelevant.

Moreover, Pod2g also told that the Evad3rs are waiting for major release of iOS. Pod2g revealed this major release of iOS today after a great session at HITBSC 2013 in an interview with Filip Truta of Softpedia.

Like every one, Truta being curious to know about the future Jailbreak release asked Pod2g if people would need to wait until iOS 7 for the Jailbreak to be released?

    While answering Truta, Pod2g said,

“we’re not releasing any jailbreaks until the next major release or until another major release, like iOS 6.2.”

The arrival of iOS 6.2 by Apple is a bit sketchy because Apple can release iOS 6.1.4 to address any issue if found in iOS 6.1.3. However, according to previous reports from David Wang, another member of the Evad3rs told that Apple has closed three loopholes in iOS 6.1.3 out of five loopholes. Therefore, to work on iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak is useless because the team would be burning exploits that will be patched by Apple in iOS 6.1.4 update.

This is the main reason due to which the Evad3rs are not releasing any new Jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3. The team is waiting for a major release like iOS 7 or iOS 6.2 that is skeptical. We don’t see any reason for iOS 6.2 to arrive. The next iOS release should be of iOS 7 that will be done this fall 2013.

According to a previous report, we might not have to wait for the iOS 7 Jailbreak because P0sixninja has some exploits on his hand and he is waiting for the arrival iOS 7 to test them.

  • iOS 7 Jailbreak Might be Released by P0sixninja Solely

iOS 7 Jailbreak Might be Released by P0sixninja Solely

iOS 7 Jailbreak might be release by P0sixninja after iOS 7 makes a public appearance or apparently, the Ninja might release the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 to burn the exploits.

Following the departure of P0sixninja from the Chronic Dev-Team made him disappeared from the Jailbreak community for months. The last time we heard from P0sixninja was back in November 2012, when he tweeted about that he is working on something bigger and later in a conversation with L33tdawg, P0sixninja revealed the secrecy behind bigger thing. The secrecy behind the bigger thing was finding of Decryption keys for A5-A6X BootROM. This possibly means that P0sixninja was finding a BootROM level exploit for all new iDevices starting from A5-A6X processor.

Later today, P0sixninja on his Twitter account tweeted great news stating that he has discovered a good amount of exploits in the latest iOS that the fruit company failed to patch. Even though Apple patched some exploits of the Evasi0n Tool, but not all of the exploits were patched. Other than these exploits, P0sixninja has found more exploits in iOS latest version and is planning to release the Jailbreak under his own authority.

As far the Evad3rs is concerned, they haven’t gone anywhere. The team of Evad3rs and the owners of Evasi0n are still alive. The Evad3rs might be working on something new or might be finding more vulnerability in iOS for future use.

However, the upfront member of Evad3rs, Planetbeing previously told that he has got some exploits in backend for future use. Even if Apple patches all the Evasi0n exploits, there will be a way to Jailbreak future iOS. At the moment, P0sixninja is on the lead with much needed exploits and the question risen by the public is, “Will P0sixninja burn the exploits for iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak or wait for iOS 7 to Jailbreak it?”

It is too early to say anything about this because nothing can be said on this. The future of iOS, iOS 7 is months away and the unveiling of it would be done in summer at WWDC 13. If the unveiling of iOS 7 is done at WWDC 13, then the public release would be made in October 13. Therefore, we can expect the arrival of iOS 7 Jailbreak in October and hope that the exploits founded by P0sixninja are not burned for iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak.

If the exploits founded by P0sixninja are burned for iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak, then we will have to wait for until next year to get iOS 7 Jailbreak.

  • Apple Patched Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak Exploit in iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2

Apple Patched Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak Exploit in iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2

The cat and mouse game between iOS Hackers and Apple is finally over. Apple has won the war once again by fixing the initial Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak exploit in its iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 release. The iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 was released by Apple this past week and before that Apple released iOS 6.1.2 to fix issues with Exchange bug along with battery issues for iPhone/iPod/iPad. With the release of iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2, Apple has not only patched the Evasi0n exploit, indeed Apple has made it difficult for iOS Hackers to Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 because the security level has increased for iOS in this new iOS 6.

The main focus of Apple in iOS 6.1.3 is to bring out some changes for the Japanese Maps and to fix the most viral unlock screen bug that was founded in iOS 6.1, iOS 6.1.1, and iOS 6.1.2. As of now, the viral unlock screen bug seems to be fixed along with Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak exploit. The reports of Evasi0n fix comes from the upfront member of Evad3rs, @Planetbeing who told Forbes that Apple has patched one exploit out of five with the release of iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2. The exploit that has been fixed by Apple breaks the rhythm of Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak on iOS 6.1.3.

Wang tells me that he’s analyzed the 6.1.3 beta 2 update and found that it patches at least one of the five bugs the jailbreak exploits, namely a flaw in the operating system’s time zone settings. The beta update likely signals the end of using evasi0n to hack new or updated devices after the update is released to users, says Wang, who says he’s still testing the patch to see which other vulnerabilities exploited by the jailbreak might no longer exist in the new operating system.

As told by Planetbeing, if vulnerability doesn’t works, the whole program of Evasi0n will not work. Therefore, we will need to look for more vulnerability to replace that patched exploit by Apple or we will need to start from scratch for the Untethered Jailbreak.  Planetbeing also notes that the chances are high that Apple might patch all the available exploits when iOS 6.1.3 rolls out for Public. However, it is early to say anything about the exploits going to be patched or not.

The fixing of Evasi0n Exploit in iOS 6.1.3 doesn’t puts the tool to an end or it doesn’t puts the era of Untethered Jailbreak to an end. The work will carry on the Untethered Jailbreak by Evad3rs as soon as iOS 6.1.3 is out for public. It will take a while to release the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 because the Evad3rs would require some time to find the exploits or test the existing exploits.

  • iOS 6.1.2 is Jailbreak Safe, iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Wi-Fi Jailbreakable

iOS 6.1.2 is Jailbreak Safe, iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Wi-Fi Jailbreakable

After the release of iOS 6.1.2 by Apple to combat the well-known Exchange Bug in iOS 6.1, its time to unveil some good news for our folks awaiting for the Untethered Jailbreak. As we told you in our previous post that Apple didn’t patched the Evasi0n Exploit in iOS 6.1.2 and the lock screen bug that was reported in iOS 6.1.x remains unfixed. Following the freedom from Apple’s side of not fixing the issues, its time to get some good news from the Evad3rs regarding the iOS 6.1.2 Untethered Jailbreak.

The Good news is that Apple doesn’t patch the exploit of Evasi0n and the newly released iOS 6.1.2 is still vulnerable to Untethered Jailbreak released by Evad3rs. Therefore today the upfront member of Planetbeing jumped into the Jailbreaking scene to see if iOS 6.1.2 is still vulnerable or not. According to his tweet on Twitter, the newly release iOS 6.1.2 is still vulnerable to Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak and the iPhone 5 along with iPad Mini Wi-Fi models can be Jailbreaked using the current version of Evasi0n.

iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Wi-Fi running iOS 6.1.2 can Untethered Jailbreak using the same current version of Evasi0n that is not recommended by us because some users might run into series of issues after Jailbreaking on iOS 6.1.2. In case some one has accidentally updated, the person can use the current version of Evasi0n to Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 on iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Wi-Fi for the time being. Rest iDevices are being looked into by the Evad3rs and an update to Evasi0n would be released soon. Stay tuned with us.

  • How to Backup your iPhone/iPod/iPad Before Updating or Jailbreaking – Like a Boss

How to Backup your iPhone/iPod/iPad Before Updating or Jailbreaking – Like a Boss

These days to back up your iPhone/iPod/iPad have become a difficult task to attempt. All the credit for making it difficult goes to Apple for releasing a new iOS version after few months and then the credit goes to iOS Hackers who are releasing the Jailbreak for that iOS from time to time. In this game of Cat and Mouse (Apple and iOS Hackers), the public that is affected is the users of iPhone/iPod/iPad because some update to latest iOS and some wait for the Jailbreak to arrive, so they can update to latest iOS version.

Now over here, the issue arises at the time of Backing up your iPhone/iPod/iPad. When you are willing to update your iPhone/iPod/iPad to latest iOS or want to Jailbreak your iPhone/iPod/iPad using the latest Jailbreak Tool, you need to back up your iDevice for safety purpose. In these both scenarios, people often buy backup software’s, rely on iTunes (Totally unreliable), or find some other way out that requires a Jailbreaked iDevice in order to do a backup.

However, 99% people prefer iTunes because it is safe and easy to use than other free software’s present out there, but for us, the thing is different. We don’t rely on iTunes because it is not worth it to be used for backing up your iPhone/iPod/iPad. According to our personal experience, we wont recommend any one for backing up their iPhone/iPod/iPad via iTunes because in iTunes 11 (the latest version) we faced some issues like Apps were gone away while restoring from the backup, although the contacts, messages, and previous settings were restored. However, the main thing is that the Apps were gone and weren’t restored back to our iPhone via iTunes. There might be some issue with the iTunes or on our end, but still the thing that is gone is gone.

Therefore, we came up with a well renowned Backing up Tool for your iPhone/iPod/iPad, you can say that an alternative to iTunes. We thought on sharing the Tool and a complete guide on how to back up your iPhone/iPod/iPad before updating or Jailbreaking.

Below are the steps to follow to back up your iPhone/iPod/iPad manually like a boss.

    Step 1:

First of all download the tool called iTools from our dedicated Software’s download page here.

The tool is available for MAC and Windows both.

    Step 2:

Now open iTools and let it read your iPhone/iPod/iPad. Make sure that iTunes is closed.download_itools_mac_windows

    Step 3:

When iTools opens and your iPhone/iPod/iPad is recognized by iTools, it will show you a screen like this.

    Step 4:

Now it’s the time for you to decide about what things you need to backup from your iPhone/iPod/iPad.

    backup_iphone_ipod_ipad_jailbreak

In order to do that there will be a list of things shown by iTools that can be backed up easily. The list is as follows:

    • Apps
    • Music
    • Movies
    • Photos
    • EBooks
    • Info
    • File System

You are only interested in the above-mentioned features. Rest don’t touch them because they are useless.

    Step 5:

Now, you have to play with two buttons for backing up your iPhone/iPod/iPad via iTools and restoring them back after Updating or restoring the Devices. The buttons in which you are interested are Import, Export, and Backup.

    Step 6:

In order to back up the Apps, go to Apps section in iTools.

In order to back up contacts, go to Info Section in iTools.

In order to back up Movies; go to Movies Section in iTools.

In order to back up Music; go to Music Section in iTools.

In order to back up stuff downloaded form Cydia, go to File System Section in iTools only if you know what you are doing and what is the location of the stuff.

    Step 7:

Now you have to play with Import, Export, and Backup options.

    Step 8:

You are all done with backing up your iPhone/iPod/iPad like a boss. Make sure you do a backup from iTunes as well, just to be on  safer side.

P.S Note that there are tons of Software’s for free and paid one that allow you to backup your iPhone/iPod/iPad in several ways, but we are using this tool from past few years and we have found it much useful than all the other software’s present out there. It is user-friendly and easy to use.
