  • How to Get Stock Google Maps on iPhone 5 Running iOS 6

How to Get Stock Google Maps on iPhone 5 Running iOS 6

After the release of the next big thing with the iOS 6, things were screwed. Apple wanted to take the iOS to the next level and they ended up having screwed Maps in iOS 6. Apple kicked the ass of Google Maps in iOS 6 being so professional that they ended up reversing the directions on the stock iOS 6 MAP.App. No doubt, Apple invented or took the maps to the next level by adding two new features of 3D Maps and Flyover. These two features of iOS 6 stock map.app are only limited to some countries. Only to add these things, Apple ended up messing the stock iOS Maps.app.

We highly doubt if they ever used their own Maps.app for the navigation in iOS 6 when it was in the Beta Stages for months. We assume the issue must be known to Apple in the Maps and they neglected the issue only to make the release of iOS 6 on the predefined date that they told on the unveiling of the iPhone 5. This ignorance of the error in iOS 6 Maps.app for sure have pissed off many loyal Apple users.  The issue widely exists in the iOS 6 that comes built in with the iPhone 5. The issue of Maps going mad, highly persists in the iPhone 5 and mostly on older devices because people can downgrade or refrain from updating to iOS 6. Whereas in the iPhone 5 people are out of luck. In this hard time, we are with you.

Therefore today, we are going to unveil a magic trick that will help you in having the stock Google Maps back on the iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0 without any hitch. The method doesn’t require Jailbreak even.

    The guide is as follows:

    Step 1:

Open Safari Browser on your iPhone 5 or any iDevice running iOS 6.

    Step 2:

Now go into the URL bar and enter this address.

    “maps.google.com” (without “”)

    google_maps_iphon_5_1

    Step 3:

When the website opens, it will say you to bookmark the page.

    Step 4:

Now go to the arrow sign above. After going there, you will see an option called, “Bookmark”, press that.

    ios_6_maps_google_maps

    Step 5:

Once you are done with the bookmark thing, the Maps will appear on your home screen as if it is an App.

    google_maps_apple_iphone5

After doing all of the above things, forget the original iOS 6 Maps.app and start using the Google’s Stock Map App on the iPhone 5 or on any iDevice running iOS 6. Now you don’t need to go with the most fail Maps App on the iPhone 5. If you still willing to screw your mind for the voice navigation thing, we would recommend you to use Sygic for the time being.

Apple is aware of the issue of maps in iOS 6 and working to fix the issue as soon as possible. Until then, use the Google Maps iPhone 5 Safari version.

  • Apple Aired Four New iPhone 5 TV Ads Starring T.P.C.E

Apple Aired Four New iPhone 5 TV Ads Starring T.P.C.E

As the iPhone 5 makes a debut in several countries around the globe, today Apple started to air four new T.V ads for the iPhone 5. The all-new four T.V ads codenamed by us are T.P.C.E. these short forms of the long named T.V adverts might look a bit strange. These four symbols are carrying the first letter of all the four adverts. The names of the different four adverts are as follows.

    1. Thumbs

    2. Physics

    3. Cheese

    4. Ears

Above are the four T.V adverts that Apple aired today for the new iPhone 5. When we combine these four new T.V adverts, they make the name of T.P.C.E that sounds something related to rocket science. However, there is no rocket science involved in the letters and even in T.V Adverts.

Lets start with the first letter “T” that represents “Thumb”.

iPhone 5 TV Ad – Thumb

Then comes the number of “P”

iPhone 5 TV Ad – Physics

Then comes the number of “C”

iPhone 5 TV Ad – Cheese

And finally, comes the number of “E”

iPhone 5 TV Ad – Ears

In the first Ad of Thumb, Apple clearly explains the efficient of Thumb with an iPhone 5. Then in the second Ad, Apple compares the iPhone 5 with the law of Physics. In the third Ad of Cheese, Apple shows off with the Panorama feature that they introduced in iOS 6. In the end, Apple showed off the innovation that they made to headphones with a complete new design.

After seeing all the four iPhone 5 T.V adverts, don’t forget to tell us about the one you liked the most.

  • More Than 400 Units of iPhone 5 Stolen from The U.K and Japan

More Than 400 Units of iPhone 5 Stolen from The U.K and Japan

While the people around the globe were, busy in the emerging lines for the iPhone 5, the carriers and Apple Retail Stores were busy in setting up the iPhone 5 on display, more than 400 units of the iPhone 5 were stolen from different locations around the globe. The robbery occurred at those carrier Retail Stores where the security was left in dark and no one was present to look after them. The Apple Retail Stores on the other hand had the security tightened because the staff was hooking the iPhone 5 on display and were putting up display banners for todays launch worldwide.

A total of 191units were stolen from three different shops owned by carrier’s partner KDDI and Softbank in the Osaka area in Japan. The major carrier partner to get affected in this robbery is Softbank Japan; whose store had iPhone 5 stock wipe cleaned before the official launch. The police are investigating the robbery and they have not yet confirmed about the culprits of the case, reports WSJ.

[A] Softbank Corp store in the western district of Osaka city was wiped clean of its iPhone 5 stock. All 116 devices were stolen, including one store display. The police said they were taken from the locked backroom within a four minute span from 4:24 a.m. as shown on security camera footage. The video recording also showed there were three culprits, all likely to be male. The police said it is uncertain whether the robbery is related to the incident in Ibaraki, located about 20 minutes away by car.

According to the above report, the robbery was completed in the time span of four minutes in total as shown in the camera footage. The Softbank Store had total of 116 units iPhone 5 stolen in just four minutes of time span. Remaining seventy-five units were stolen from different locations.

    iphone_5_stolen_o2_japan

The iPhone 5 didn’t become the victim in Japan only. The United Kingdom reportedly faced the same robbery issue at its O2 Shop. About 252 units of iPhone 5 were stolen from the O2 shop in London. The Independent reports the theft was an inside job.

Officers want to speak to Usman Sethi, 23, of Audley Gardens, Ilford, east London, who works as an assistant at the store.

The phones were taken at 1.30am, with a quantity of cash which was also stolen from the shop’s safe. […]

Police also want to speak to Mr Sethi, a Pakistani national, in connection with the theft of jewellery belonging to a family member from his home address in Audley Gardens.

The culprit behind the iPhone 5 252 Units stolen is said to be MR. Usman Sethi, the person who used to work as an assistant at the store.

The sole iPhone 5 unit of 16GB capacity is on sale for £529, if we calculate the total amount expecting the 16GB capacity of iPhone 5, we get £133,308. If we calculate for the 32GB iPhone 5, we would get around £150,948. This means the person who stole iPhone 5 units would become a millionaire even if he sells the iPhone 5 on Craig list.

  • iPhone 5 Jailbroken on iOS 6 With Cydia Teased by CHPWN

iPhone 5 Jailbroken on iOS 6 With Cydia Teased by CHPWN

The date of September 21 must be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Record. On this date and day, many amazing things were done. The same day iPhone 5 went on sale, iPhone 5 kicked the arse of Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5 was PWNED by Grant Paul (CHPWN), the iOS hacker. Today after the iPhone 5 went on sale, every one got their hands on the iPhone 5 including some of the Dev-Team Members for sure and out of them Grant Paul has got one for sure because he PWNED the iPhone 5 running iOS 6 the same day it got released. This new news of iPhone 5 Jailbroken is spreading like a fire in the jailbreak community.

While people were getting the iPhone 5, no one even imagined about the Jailbreak would be done this fast. Every one including us thought the Jailbreak would come some time after 3-4 months of time span. However, today, our expectation went wrong. The iPhone 5 got Jailbreaked the same day it went on sale. CHPWN teased an image of the iPhone 5 showing Cydia on the taller screen of a 4-inch display.

Few minutes back, @CHPWN Tweeted from official Twitter account showing an image of Cydia on the taller display.

    iphone_5_jailbroken_cydia

Now doubt the taller screen likes Cydia too, but the icon of Cydia is small. The icon of Cydia needs to made a big tall to fit on the larger display.

A part from the picture of Cydia on iPhone 5, the Jailbreak for the iPhone 5 is not coming until few weeks. The Jailbreak needs to work on and to make Cydia compatible iOS 6. When the work is done, the Jailbreak would be released. So far, the Jailbreak for A4 Devices is also not present now on iOS 6 because of the broken status of Cydia on iOS 6.

Once Cydia ahs been worked on, the Jailbreak would be out for iOS 6 on limited devices. The limitation will be up to A4 devices. People owning an iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3, and the iPhone 5 would need to wait until a perfect solution hasn’t been found. After seeing Cydia on iPhone 5, we don’t think that it will take iOS 6 Jailbreak long to arrive. We expect the Jailbreak in few weeks because iOS 6 got some bugs by which the Jailbreak can be done/found easily.

If you have bought an phone 5 today or will be buying one in near future, don’t just wait for the Jailbreak to arrive and then buy one, instead go an buy one for yourself before Apple releases another iOS 6 update to fix the previous bugs.

  • iPhone 5 Kicked Rival Galaxy S III Out in First Real Drop Test (Video)

iPhone 5 Kicked Rival Galaxy S III Out in First Real Drop Test (Video)

Today must be a lucky day for every one out there buying an iPhone 5. First we would like to congratulate to all those who bought the next Taller Thing today or got it delivered today at their doorstep. All of you who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 and it is on its way, until then, the geeks who bought an iPhone 5 to do a scratch, durability, and drop test did some homework for you people. Thee geeks have made a drop test video of the iPhone 5 compared with its rival, Samsung Galaxy S III showing a drop off from different respective heights.

The first iPhone 5 drop test was conducted by Android Authority who hated the iPhone 5 and loved Galaxy 3 before the test wasn’t conducted. After the test was conducted, the views about the iPhone 5 changed and the person conducting the drop test got shocked. He even had no words left to praise the iPhone 5 because iPhone 5 drop test just busted the ass of Galaxy S III. The Android fanatic at one moment took off his shades to see if he is seeing the results perfectly. This moment was the best moment of ours in the video.

    iphone_5_drop_test

    Check the video below:

    iPhone 5 Drop Test:

The real and best moment starts at 5:00 in the video, when the Fandroid guy just takes off his shades and his pitch goes a bit down for the Galaxy S III. It seems that it was a bit hard to tell the truth about the iPhone 5 drop test for a Fandroid. However, the Galaxy S III didn’t went very bad, it was also good, but not good as iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 got some scratches and dents on the body when dropped. On the other hand, Galaxy S III back cover was flipped and the screen were damaged.

The video above clearly shows about the iPhone 5 is durable enough from the back and front. This durability found in the iPhone 5 is much better than the Plastic Galaxy S III, even after dropping the iPhone 5 from the height of 6 Feet makes a dent on the sides. No damage was made to back or front.

In this first drop test of the iPhone 5 with Galaxy S III, iPhone 5 wins.

Now comes the turn of iFixyouri who took the iPhone 5 drop test at next level with 9to5mac. They conducted the same drop test of the iPhone 5 from different heights without its rival.

    Video:

iPhone 5 Drop Test by iFixyouri:

The results were amazing of the iPhone 5 drop test by iFixyouri. The glass didn’t shattered until the guy smashed the iPhone 5 on the floor.

We are pleased from the iPhone 5 drop test and highly appreciate the decision of Apple to replace the back glass with the Aluminum back because in our daily life we put the iPhone 5 with different things. We keep the iPhone in our pocket with keys of the car or home; we keep the iPhone on computer table, or any place from where we can grab scratches at the back of it without knowing the condition of the place. This new Aluminum back of iPhone 5 would help to refrain scratches from occurring on the iPhone 5 back.

    Conclusion:

The iPhone 5 is the winner of the drop test in the both videos above and iPhone 5 beats Galaxy S III out. We liked the iPhone 5 drop test and we expect more incoming iPhone 5 drop tests in near future. We expect more worse iPhone 5 drop tests are lined up ahead.

For the time being, do let us know about your reviews on the iPhone 5 drop test.
