The New iPhone to Get NFC and 4G LTE Confirmed with Fall Release 2012

This coming fall we for sure know that Apple will announce something big and great. That big and great thing is already given a name of iPhone 5. The amazing thing is that the name iPhone 5 is not yet confirmed because some say it is the sixth-generation iPhone, some say iPhone 5, and we call it The New iPhone. This issue is never ending issue and will only be resolved when the iPhone has arrived on our screens on the Media Event that will be held by Apple this fall.

The amazing thing is that only few weeks are left for the fall to arrive with some good news. This doesn’t means that the upcoming iPhone would be released when the fall starts. However, there are many rumors roaming on the Internet these days pointing out the launch of iPhone 5 on 7 August 2012. Somehow, this rumor makes no sense because Apple got some testing to do before they go with the iPhone 5 launch.

According to BGR, Apple goes through multiple stages before they proceed on with the release of any product. The two of those stages are “Engineering Verification Test” (EVT) phase and “Design Verification Test” (DVT) Phase.  Currently the iPhone 5 is in the EVT3 (Engineering Verification Test) stage, the third revision of Engineering Test Phase. In addition, the iPhone 5 hasn’t gone into the DVT Stage yet.

Moreover, BGR points out the reference of the old iPhone 4 when it was in production.

  1. Verizon (VZ) iPhone 4: This hit the EVT2 stage in mid-November, hit EVT3 the last week of November, and got up to DVT2 in late December.
  2. iPhone 4: The unit that was lost in a San Francisco bar was in DVT stage in late March, and had hit EVT2 by mid-February of 2010.

For the time being, we can assume that Apple is smoothing the issues out with the manufacturing line before it starts the real time production. The iPhone for which you are waiting impatiently haven’t gone into production yet.

FURTHERMORE, BGR confirms the news that the iPhone 5 will have 1GB of RAM, NFC Technology, and 4G LTE Radios. The Ram size seems to be doubled in the iPhone 5 as compared to iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4S got 512 MB of RAM and iPhone 5 is said to have 1GB of RAM making it much faster than before.

These only basic things have been confirmed so far. Still the major things like Design, screen size, display, and camera are left in dark. These things will be revealed when the iPhone reaches the DVT stage.
