iOS 5.1 Lock Screen Camera Slider Leads to Privacy Issues on iDevices

Whenever Apple releases any new iOS version, they are challenged with many strange and irritating bugs. Sometime those bugs lead to privacy concerns of the users. The unused release of iOS 5 alongside its continuous updates fixed some of the important bugs reported to Apple. Undoubtedly, Apple had added over 200+ features in their major iOS update of iOS 5, and they also introduced a fresh feature in iOS 5 by which a person can capture photos from the lock screen. This awesome feature was made permanent on the lock screen in the update of iOS 5.1, so users don’t have to double press the home button twice to get the camera button App and then proceed on.

Somehow this awesome feature is a great threat to your privacy regarding your Photos, Videos, contacts, and all of your personal data present on your iDevice. This bug was discovered by a Canadian Tech consultant, Ade Barkah in iOS 5.0.1. We expected that Apple had fixed this bug in iOS 5.1 and user’s data is safe. We got our hands onto iOS 5.1 and recalled this previous bug to see if it still exits or not. So, we took two iPhones. One was iPhone 4 and the other one was iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S was on iOS 5.0.1 and iPhone 4 was on iOS 5.1. First we tested the same procedure on iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 and then the same procedure on iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1. The results were amazing. The bug is already present in iOS 5.0.1 and where we expected a fix in iOS 5.1, unfortunately the bug is still present in iOS 5.1.

It goes like this. In iOS 5.1, you lock the screen, and then slide the camera button upside, the camera will be opened. On the bottom left you can see the camera roll. Press that and you will be in the camera roll of that iPhone. Once you are in, just press the home button once and you will land on the home screen of the iPhone. Where you can dial calls, see contacts, and do everything.

We have done a small video on it to show you how this bug works.

Video:

This is strange and questionable that why this hasn’t been fixed yet. This is a great threat to your personal data. This bug was said to be occurring due to some software glitch and difference in Time Zone. When you are traveling and connect to a PC that is few hours back from the time you have taken the photo.

We don’t know when Apple will fix this issue for its users. If you want to be protected from this issue, you should keep a pass-code on your iDevice in order to be protected from this bug. This doesn’t works on a pass-code protected iDevice.

Angry Birds Space Will comes to Windows Phone Platform (Confirmed)

There is a great new for all those people who own a Windows Phone 7. The top most selling App, Angry Birds Space on iOS and Android will be making its way to Windows Phone platform sometime soon. It was previously said that Windows Phone users would be missed out for Angry Birds Space edition because Rovio Mobile had no plans for launching the game on Windows Platform. The reports also claimed that the Rovio Mobile was discarding the Windows Platform. All speculations went down to the drain when Reuters talked with the C.E.O of Rovio Mobiles regarding the Angry Birds Space edition on Windows Mobile Platform.

In an interview, the C.E.O told Reuters that:

“We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7,” Rovio Chief Executive Mikael Hed told Reuters, dismissing earlier media reports that the top gaming firm was dumping the platform.
Hed, however, said the launch date was not set.

Hed clearly defined that they are planning to launch the new version of Angry Birds Space on Windows Phone Platform, whereas they didn’t set up an eta for the launch. Angry Birds is one of the fastest growing games on every platform and it has been downloaded more than 700 Million times. Angry Birds is also the most popular game on Facebook these days. It is also one of the most downloaded games in the world with a yield of $9 Billion within two years of time. This is a huge success for Angry Birds.

iPhone 5 to Debut in Fall With 4G LTE, 3.5-inch Screen, and More

Earlier today we told about a strange claim over Apple’s next gen iPhone, probably the iPhone 5 said to be having a new and big screen of a 4.6-inch. The screen size seemed to be really strange and not acceptable because in past Apple has never ever thought of increasing the size of the screen of their iPhone’s because the bigger the screen, the difficult the handling of the Phone gets. If they still proceed with a larger display, so there won’t be any difference between android phones and Apple’s iPhone.Keeping in mind that the news about a 4.6-inch display was a rumor, we came across news from a reliable source which stays really close to Apple and follows Apple like their everyday meal.

The source is iMore which has been pretty much accurate in past regarding Apple products release. The website reports that the Apple’s next gen iPhone will follow the alike footprints of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S by keeping the identical screen size of 3.5-inch. The website also reports that the new iPhone will feature a 4G-LTE Radio, smaller dock connector, and the same-old size of the screen.

• Similar if not same sized screen (currently 3.5-inch but not set in stone)
• 4G LTE radio
• New “micro dock” connector
• Fall/October 2012 release

In the end, the release is said to be done this fall. It is also believed that Apple might be working on iOS 6, which is really difficult to presume even because Apple just released iOS 5.1 in the most rear week. If Apple releases iOS 6 SDK, we can believe that Apple will furthermore release iOS 6 this year with iPhone 5. In past, Apple has released every unknown major update of iOS with their modern iPhones.

iPhone 5 to Carry a 4.6-inch Screen Same as the Size of Samsung’s Flagship

The rumors about iPhone 5 have started to begin. This is not the first time when you are hearing about the iPhone 5 coming soon or the next iPhone launch can be the iPhone 5. If you recall October in which iPhone 4S was launched, and we were expecting iPhone 5 to debut. The rumors regarding iPhone 5 were so strong that everyone believed that iPhone 5 will debut. At the last moment what we saw was an iPhone 4S. Apple continued their history of iPhone launching series. At 2010’s WWDC, Apple announced iPhone 4 and before that Apple released iPhone 3GS after iPhone 3G. So, this time we should have expected about iPhone 4S because after iPhone 4, the turn of the iPhone 4S will come and then iPhone 5.

Until the last launch of the iPhone 4S, we were also expecting some design changes whereas the design came out to be the same as the iPhone 4, and it had only some hardware changes with a personal assistant called SIRI. SIRI was one of the best things released in iPhone 4S which everyone is willing to have on their devices. The iPhone 4S carries a 3.5-inch screen which was rumored to be a 4-inch screen. This time Apple is expected to release the iPhone 5 with a complete new design and a bigger screen. The screen size is said to be 4.6 inch, which is almost about the same size of its competitor’s phone called Samsung Galaxy S II. No doubt that back in 2007 Apple released the touch phone technology, and its entire competitors took the advantage of it. Now Apple’s competitors hold half market share than their single iOS Device.
The report of a 4.6-inch screen size display come from a Korean Media, Maeil Business Newspaper, reported by Reuters that:

Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and started placing orders to its suppliers; the Maeil Business Newspaper said, quoting an unnamed industry source.

Where Apple is planning to release a 4.6-inch iPhone this year, they shouldn’t forget that Samsung, the major competitor released Samsung Galaxy S II last year with the same screen size in April. If Apple comes up with this new screen size, so we can expect another lawsuit by Samsung against Apple soon. The huge size of the screen would also be difficult to carry one because the iPhone wouldn’t be very much handy.
To see a 4.6-inch iPhone, people over adr-studio, have done a great job by designing a concept of the iPhone 5. This doesn’t mean that the iPhone 5 will look the same way as it is shown. They have designed the iPhone concept based on all previous rumors about it. The design will be slim, retina display, and include a 4.6-inch screen. The concept looks really great. The concept design is really great but still a 4.6-inch iPhone 5 will work the way it should?

iPad 3 will be landing in 23 Additional Countries Following New Zealand

After few hours, the date will change to 23rd March 2012 when the New iPad will go into 23 more countries to welcome the impatient users of Apple. Like before everyone lines up outside the Apple store from days before the launch of any new Apple product. This time also many of you would be lined outside the Apple Store other than U.S.A and nine other countries in which the New iPad got launched this Friday. The other 23 countries mentioned by Apple are:

The New iPad will launch in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The sale will start on March 23, 2012. At some places, the dates have changed to March 23, 2012, and people are waiting outside the Apple Store to start the sale. Jordan Golson of Macrumors has shared a picture of the New Zealand Apple Store where people are lined up for the New iPad sale.

We believe that it is already time in New Zealand for the launch of the iPad 3. Following the launch of iPad 3 in New Zealand, it will cover all the 23 countries mentioned above. The pre-orders of the iPad will be delivered in a week or two-time span following the official launch. Now we will have to see that how much does the total sales of the iPad counts after the launch of iPad 3 in 23 additional countries. The most recent phenomenal iPad three sales made a new record of 3,000,000 sales in just four days of its launch.

The Lightening Charge Speed of the New iPad Raises Serious Questions

It has been only six days to the official launch of the New iPad, and we have come across an amazing fact. Those of you who didn’t buy the New iPad are on safe side, and those of you have bought the new iPad would be noticing this same issue on your iPad. Apple no doubt improved the battery in the New iPad by putting in a larger battery than the iPad 2 which makes it battery time more efficient and better than previous models of the iPad, on the other hand, the improved battery gets charged in an hour after the battery is fully drained. This is something new purported by Apple in their New iPad. The iPad 2 takes almost about 3-4 hours or more to get fully charged.

The report of this lightning battery charge comes from DisplayMate President Ray Soneira indicated that the New iPad-put on charge with the 10w adapter given by Apple with the New iPad charges the battery in one hour and draws a sign of 100% charged as shown in the iOS. It also gives the sign of disconnect from the charging port when reached 100%. Then iLounge did a quick test on this issue and found out that:

In iLounge’s testing, the new iPad switches from a lightning bolt (“still charging”) to plug (“done charging”) battery icon 5 to 10 minutes after reaching 100%; Soneira confirmed that the iPad still charges even when it claims to have been filled.

ipad 3 battery issues

This is really strange. This usually happens when you have an iPad with battery issues or something is wrong with battery. Mostly this happens when you do an over charge of you iPad. Now this is interesting that the New iPad charges in an hour to 100% and drains at 10% per hour while performing a task. Sometimes, the battery drains 2% also. iLounge also did a test on this and found out the result that:

Notably, iLounge found unusual, non-linear reported battery drain during our numerous battery tests, with the third-generation iPad sometimes reporting a battery loss of just two percent over the first hour of testing, then averaging 10% of loss each hour afterwards while performing the same tasks.

This is really strange that these types of issues have started to happen in Apple’s product. This is not the first time when we are seeing any of these issues in our life. If we recall the launch of iPhone 4, after the launch of the iPhone, 4 people had some serious signal issues and in the end, Apple recalled some of the iPhone 4’s Later on, they released the bumper case program to fix that issue. That was for iPhone 4. Now recall the iPad 2 launches. When iPad 2 was launched, people started to complain about the pale display and some of them reported about the yellow light coming from the corners of the iPad 2.

The battery issues in the New iPad are not new, but they are really threatening. Different issues, but iPhone 4S also had serious battery issue, which was fixed by an iOS update. However the New iPad shows that the iPad is fully charged after one hour though it is not. It is still charging. So if you are facing the same issue on your New iPad so don’t feel odd because you are not the only one who is facing these issues.
