How to Fix Activation Reports Error on SAMPREF While Unlocking iPhone

After ages we came across a new Unlock method by Luktar_Sun with the help of SAM. This unlock method doesn’t Unlocks your iPhone like Factory Unlock or so, it simply allows you to have one SIM Unlock, that is to get unlocked on a particular Carrier SIM. Any how this method is a great success and everyone in the world is using this method. Recently SAM updated his tools for the Unlock for the ease of users about which we told you the day before. The new update of SAM and SAM PREF allowed users to do unlock with just one click and no hustle was there.

Unfortunately, some of the people were facing issue with this new method and were not able to unlock their iPhone the way they should be doing it. Personally, I was also one of them who was stuck on this Error of Activation Reports. I tried about whole night and couldn’t get pass through it. Later on today, I came across a method posted by Hitul Gandhi. After seeing this method, I re waked my hope and followed the steps he mentioned. In the end, it worked like a charm and no errors were there. So I thought to share this method with you people and I am sure that many of you would be facing the same error on iPhone while performing the old steps.

So below goes the complete guide on how to fix this error in no time and get Unlocked.

Step 1

Delete the folder of Lockdown from (Var/Root/Library).

After you are done with the deletion of the folder, Now Reset Network Settings on Your iPhone from (Settings>;General>;Reset Network Settings).

Step 2

After you have Reset Network settings, you iPhone will reboot. After it is rebooted, put the SIM Card You Want Unlock in the iPhone.

After this connect to your WIFI from Settings. Now open up SAMPREF from Springboard.

Step 3

Now when you are in SAMPREF, make sure that your iPhone is De-Activated. You can see in More information. The Activation status must say De-Activated.

If it says Wild Card Activated, then De-Activate the iPhone by going into Utilities.

If it says Factory Activated, then go into Utilities, press Revert Lock Down to stock and it will be De-Activated.

Step 4

After your iPhone is De-Activated, Go back in SAM Menu and Click on Method. Now Choose By Bundle Name Method.

Step 5

Now Click On Bundle and Choose ATT_US (For AT&T Locked iPhones Only). Basically It Should Be The Bundle Of The Carrier Your Phone Is Originally Locked On. (Mine was on AT&T so I chose AT&T. If you is locked on to 02 U.K, so you should choose 02 U.K)

Step 6

Now go back to menu and click on SIMID, There should only be one ID to Choose. If there is more than one, so choose one by one and one of them would work. In case, if first one never works, so choose second one. For me and Hitul, 310410 for AT&T Locked iPhone worked like a charm.

Step 7

Now go to Utilities and now perform Activation. If everything you have done is right, it will take some time for the action to work and you will have a respring on your iDevice and it will work after the respring is complete.

This method no doubt work for me and Hitul. I am sure that this method will work for you as well if you give it a try.

UpdateX1: This method will no longer work because Apple has fixed this Unlocking Method.

We all are waiting desperately for the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3. We know that @ Pod2g, the member of the Chronic Dev-Team and Dream Team with his team is actively working on the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1. Few days back he announced that he is done with the ALSR thing on iPhone on boot and will be compiling the Jailbreak which might take a month or two depending on the bugs and any other issues faced. This was great news for every one waiting for the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 until today.

Today @Pod2g announced on his twitter that he needs some help regarding the release of the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1. He wants public opinion regarding the Jailbreak of iOS 5.1.

He has added a poll on his blog with the following options.

1. No! Release ASAP and burn 5 exploits

2. iOS 6’s gonna be a challenge. Keep your stuff.

How to unlock Any Baseband Using SAM PREF the Easy Way

Few days back we told you about the Unlock that was released in Wild for the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and older iDevice users. The Unlock used SAM method creaked by Luktar_Sun which allowed a user to spoof the ICCID of the iPhone and make it unlock. The method is a great success. The only problem was that method was long and a bit difficult to use. You needed the Real SIM card on which your iPhone was locked on to unlock the iPhone on which carrier you want to. Many of you haven’t got that SIM card of you iPhone on which it was locked.

So, recently SAM, updated his Tweak, SAM and SAM PREF in Cydia to make the Unlock process much easier and time saving than before. This time all you have to do is, just enter in the SIM card and press one button and wait for some time for the process to get ended and you will be done.

Now follow the steps to get Unlock in less than a minute.

Steps to Follow:

Step 1:

You must be Jailbroken on your iPhone in order to perform this unlock. In other words, you must got Cydia on your iPhone to make this method work.

Step 2:

Open Cydia and add a repo by going into Manage>Sources and tapping the Edit Button on top right with Add button on Left.

Step 3:

Once the repo is added, Install SAM and it will install few packages with its self. After the installation is done, it will ask to restart the Springboard. Do it.

Step 4:

Once the spring is restarted, you will get a new icon with the name of SAM PREF, open that icon.

Step 5:

When you have opened that icon, you will see many settings in it. Just go to Utilities.

Step 6:

Once you are in Utilities, you will see six options out of which you have to choose only one of them which are Attempt Activation. Just press Attempt Activation and wait for few seconds while SAM PREF does the work for you.

Step 7:

Once it is done, you will be unlocked on your carrier in no time.

Now backup your Activation ticket using this method to stay unlocked in future.

We all know that the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is being worked on by @Pod2g actively and he is trying to make the Jailbreak as smooth as possible. Till now no ETA is given by @Pod2g regarding the Jailbreak of iOS 5.1, but we are seeing something really interesting thing on Facebook. After the untethered Jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 delivered by @Pod2g and the Dream-Team made him more famous than before that some unknown person made a Facebook page with the name of @Pod2g and claims to be the real one. The interesting thing is that, 5,511 people like that page and no one ever inquired about the page, whether it is really official or not.

Today after keeping the status on the Facebook Page that “almost done: might have increased the hope of many of the people on that page unaware that the fan page is fake and not made by @pod2g himself.

Interestingly, @pod2g on his official Twitter page announced that the page on Facebook is fake and it is not made by him.

So, those of you have joined the so called Fan Page of @Pod2g on Facebook should unjoin and report it as spam/ fake because it is misleading every one.  Just follow @Pod2g on Twitter to stay up to date with the latest information regarding the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and stay away from all of these fake pages.

How to Unlock iPhone 4/4S Jailbroken With The Help of SAM

Finally Dev-Team came up with a perfect solution for the Unlock of iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S using no hardware or any permanent software installation method, thought they introduced one time unlock solution by which a user can Unlock his locked iPhone on any specific carrier. This method was originally posted by weiphone, a Chinese Blog. This method aims to provide you one Carrier Unlock right away with few steps.

Steps to Follow:

Step 1:

Make sure you are Jailbroken on your iPhone and are connected to internet. When you are ready, hook up with Cydia and add this source in it.

Once the repo is done, it will say you to return to Cydia. Do it.

Step 2:

Now go to the source you from the source section in Cydia. Once you are in it, simply look for SAM and install it. The package of SAM will install other package with it. That is normal. Once done, it will ask you to respringboard.

Step 3:

After you are done with respring, the next thing you will see on your home screen will be of a new icon called “SAM PREF.” This is the main thing you need.

Step 4:

Now open SAM PREF and navigate to Utilities. Over there you will find ton of options. One of them would be De-Activate iPhone (Clear Push). You have to press that option in order to start the process.

When you will press the button, it will say you iPhone deactivated.

Step 5:

Now head over to “More Information” section back at SAM menu and choose the Method by Country and Carrier. Then select your Country with the carrier on which you want to unlock your iPhone.

Step 6:

Now go to More Information and copy the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) number present under SAM Details. This IMSI number will be of the carrier and SIM of the carrier on which it was locked on. E.G. If your iPhone is locked on to AT&T, so there should be the IMSI number of AT&T’s that SIM on which it was locked on starting with 3xxxxxxxxx.

IMSI number varies from carrier to carrier. After copying the IMSI number, now press Spoof Real SIM to SAM.

Step 7:

After you have done this step, the Method would be changed to manual by its self. If it is not on Manual, so do it.

Now connect the iPhone to iTunes and let it Re-Activate it.

Step 8:

Once done, all you have to do is, go into iTunes summary of your iPhone and double click on the number screen to see your ICCID of the iPhone and make sure that the ICCID matched the one shown on the iPhone. If not, then repeat Step 1.

Step 9:

When you are done confirming the ICCID, disconnect the iPhone and go back to SAM main menu and disable SAM in the SAM PREF section. After this a message will be shown to you, simply ignore it.

Step 10:

Connect iPhone to the iTunes and it will show a message that it cannot activate the iPhone. Don’t worry.

Close iTunes and re-launch it while your iPhone is connected. When the iTunes pop up, your iPhone would be activated in no time.

A5X and A5 Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 in Releasing Stage

@Pod2g the member of the Chronic Dev-Team actively working on the Jailbreak of iOS 5.1 previously told that the ASLR issue needs to be sorted out the day before and today he Tweeted that he have sorted the ASLR issue. Now time to ROP the playload. This means that he is almost done with the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and only last step is remaining which is to compile the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 in a tool with some final testing.

 

 

Once this thing has been done by him, then we expect that he will do some internal final testing and then he will release the Jailbreak of iOS 5.1 for Public. The Jailbreak will be for iPad 3, iPad 2, iPhone 4S and older Devices running iOS 5.1. If you haven’t updated to iOS 5.1, still stay away from it and wait for a proper sign to update it. Unlockers should stay away from every kind of new updates of iOS.

Now it seems that the Jailbreak is only few days away. Once he is done with the Jailbreak for iOS 5.1, it will be out in wild.
