How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini I8190 (Noobs Guide)

The little brother of Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3 Mini finally is rooted. Samsung released this new member of the Galaxy S Family back in October, when Apple announced the next big thing with the name of the iPhone 5 in preceding month of September. When we came across this Galaxy S3 Mini, it was perceived that the small brother of Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3 Mini is released to serve the low-end market and to compete with the iPhone 5 at low price. However, Galaxy S3 Mini is packed with the same features as of Galaxy S3 and the only difference is of the resolution.

The resolution of Galaxy S3 Mini is 800X480, where as Galaxy S3 has got about 720p resolution. Other than the resolution, everything is the same with reference to features of Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy S3. The build of internal components is for sure different because both got different model numbers. The Galaxy S3 got I9300 and Galaxy S3 Mini got I8190 (Depends on the carriers as well).

Moving towards the main question that is frequently asked and every one wants to know about it. The question asked is, “Can the Device be Rooted?”

At first, the answer is always in a big YES because these Devices are packed with Android OS that can be rooted after sometime of the release.

Following the preceding releases by Samsung for its Galaxy S series, we have come across Galaxy S3, Galaxy Camera, and Galaxy S3 Mini. The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Camera were rooted sooner than expected and this Galaxy S3 Mini was left behind that is now being taken care of by XDA Developers.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini I8190

Before you proceed on with the rooting, kindly read the message posted at XDA Developers Forum:

Until somebody will release CWM Recovery or root for this device, I managed to create a pre-rooted firmware.
This firmware base on the last build for I8190, is a full firmware exactly like the original, except the root.
after flash you will see the SuperSU app in the app drawer.

Step 1:

Download the pre-rooted firmware file (of 500MB) from here. The file will be in a zip format.

Download Odin 3 from here.

Download Wipe_I8190 from here.

Step 2:

Once you have downloaded all the files, make a new folder with the name of Galaxy S3 Mini Root for your own ease.

After the folder creation is done, extract the pre-rooted zip file in the folder to get a .tar file from it.

Step 3:

Now open Odin 3 and attach the .tar file that you got from the .zip attachment in PDA in Odin 3.

Step 4:

Now Put the divece into download mode. (vol down + home + power button, and then click on vol up).

Step 5:

The final step is to connect the device via PC and wait for Odin to detect the device. Once the detection is done, press start and the work will start on your Galaxy S3 Mini.

Trouble Shooting:

For some reason it’s impossible in this device to boot into recovery mode (by combination of buttons).
If you want to do wipe data doing it from the settings menu (factory reset) or if you have a boot loop problem, flash the attached file WIPE_I8190.zip (the tar file inside zip) via odin in pda, it will do wipe data automaticly.

iPhone 5S Alleged Release Date With Specs Revealed Ahead of Galaxy S4 Launch

Before we enter in 2013, reload your wallets, bankcards, accounts, and every possible medium of Money Availability because two major competitors are going to strike one after another or head to head. This will be the first time in history when both the competitors would be releasing an upgrade of their smart phone lineups followed by one another and the amazing thing is that both of the competitors are looking forward to take the competition to a completely new level. Before we proceed on with further details, the two companies that are going to compete are Apple and Samsung. The same rival companies well known for the most famous lawsuit that was featured everywhere in the world and on different electronic sources.

Before we continue with the “S” update by Apple, we have talked about the rumored Galaxy S4 in past and recently we reported about the purported launch date of Galaxy S4. Now coming towards the iPhone 5S, we have already reported about two different rumors regarding this suspicious iPhone 5S. The first rumor that was reported by us was about fabrication and the second one was about the alleged images that were leaked in wild. As for now, Jeffries analyst Peter Misek who claims that Apple is planning to release an “S” version of the iPhone 5S in June 2013 with major features and specification’s upgrades. The updates include NFC, improved camera, improved Display, and few more things.

In the claim of Misek, it is also found that the iPhone 5S will be available in 6-8 different colors like the current iPod Touch 5 has. In addition to NFC, Colors, and camera, it is claimed that the iPhone 5S will have improved battery life with a SuperHD Screen. This means that Apple might be updating the iPhone 5S screen from current 1136X640 (326ppi) to 1080p display with more than (326ppi) that is a far more better resolution than the current retina display.

A part from the iPhone 5S rumor mill, Misek Analyst claims to have some information regarding the iPhone 6. In his claim for the iPhone 5S, he also states that Apple has several iPhone 6 units floating around with A7 Quad Core Processor Chips.

Several iPhone 6 prototypes appear to be floating around. The model with a 4.8″ screen is the most interesting. It has a Retina+ IGZO screen, a new A7 quad-core processor variant, and a new form factor with no home button. Full gesture control is also possibly included.

The release date for the iPhone 5S predicted by Misek is for June 2013. We can further classify the month of June in which Apple takes on the stage with ne software announcements and upcoming products. In other words, we can say that Apple goes on with WWDC on which the tech giant announces many new things and the future of its products. Therefore, we can expect an iPhone 5S making its way on WWDC 13 because few years back Apple announced iPhone 4 at WWDC.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date Teaser Released by Samsung (Teaser)

It is highly expected that Samsung is planning to unveil something new and big on its upcoming C.E.S (Consumer Electronic Show) Event planned in the second week of January 2013. The new and big thing is expected to be another Samsung Galaxy S Flagship that will be called Galaxy S4. At this time, it might sound strange that how come Samsung be planning for another Phone, when it already got two flagship of its released in preceding months following the launch one after another. Back in May, Samsung released Galaxy S3 and later in September, Samsung released a new member in the family by announcing Galaxy S3 Mini for low-end market users.

The first Smart Phone, Galaxy S3 is about seven months old and the Galaxy S3 Mini is only four months old. Samsung already got two smart phones released in the market and the company is further planning to release another smart phone with killing specification doesn’t sounds good. The release of Galaxy S4 is not yet confirmed or rock firm. But, on Monday, the teaser released by Samsung for the upcoming C.E.S might be hinting towards something new is coming because in the teaser, the Korean company has teased about “The World Awaits” for something new and innovative coming on its way at C.E.S 2013.

Samsung Testing Samsung Galaxy S4 with Low Specs Internally – Benchmark

Following the preceding reports of Samsung Galaxy S4 Release date and specifications that were leaked back on November 17 were rejected by Samsung stating that the Korean company has no plans on releasing any new Samsung Flagship. The company already released Samsung Galaxy S3, a new member of Galaxy S Series back in May. Following the release of the iPhone 5 are Samsung Galaxy S3, the Korean company released a Mini version of Galaxy S3 that is called Galaxy S3 Mini. This newly introduced Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini few months are Galaxy S3 was a remarkable release to compete with the iPhone 5 because this Mini version was packed with the same features and specs that were introduced in Galaxy S3.

The only difference found in this Galaxy S3 Mini was of the screen size that was reduced from 4.8-inch to 4.0-inch and the resolution of the display that was decreased as well. Above shown are the unverified results of Nenamark 2 benchmark on which an unknown device with the name of GT-I9400 appeared from nowhere with Android 4.2 version, with the lowest resolution of 480X800, and a dual core processor. After seeing the details of resolution and processor, we can clearly declare this Nenamark 2 benchmark results as fake because Samsung wont be putting in a dual processor and such a low resolution in its forthcoming smart phone line up. We can say that Samsung has started to test the OS version on its upcoming Smart Phone internally with limited number of developers to see how the Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean performs on Galaxy S4.

If the forthcoming Galaxy S Smart Phone is GT-I9400, then we can partially confirm that the release of Galaxy S4 will be ready to launch in May 2013 because GT-I9300 (Galaxy S3) appeared for software testing in December 2011. Therefore, we can expect the next member of the Galaxy S to be announced at C.E.S 2013 with initial sales to take place in May.

While we are heavily expecting the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S4, SamMobile notes that the number “4” is bad luck in South Korea. Therefore, we cannot be so sure about the name of the upcoming Galaxy S Smart Phone. For the time being we can name if Samsung Galaxy S4 or Samsung Galaxy S X.

- A windows computer (or heimdall built from source and the files included in the package)
- The Recovery+Cache which will flash upon installation. Get it here.
- The Odin version used is Version 1.85. Get it here.
- Use JellyBean 4.1.1 build:GC100XXALK1 in case of problems. Get it here.
Steps need to be followed in order to Root Samsung Galaxy Camera on Android 4.1.1

Step 1:

Download all of the above liked files to stay on a safe side.

Step 2:

After you have downloaded all of the above files, now unzip CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.tar.md5 from the package and place it in a folder on your desktop for your ease.

Name the folder “Galaxy Camera Root.”

Step 3:

Now launch the Odin Application.

Step 4:

After you have launched the Odin Application, place “CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.tar.md5: in the “PDA” section present in Odin Application.

Step 5:

Now comes the tricky part. In this part, you need to put the Camera into Download Mode.

How to put Samsung Camera into Download Mode?

Remove and reinsert the battery in Samsung Galaxy Camera.

Galaxy S4 Release Date Scheduled at CES in Jan With 1080p Display & More

The trend of the mobile phone industry seems to be changing from smaller displays to larger displays. In the preceding months, Apple released an iPhone 5 with a taller display of a 4-inch. Following the launch of the iPhone 5, Samsung released small brother of the Galaxy S3 Flagship called Galaxy S3 Mini with a 4-inch display. However, the Galaxy S3 is packed with a 4.8-inch Super Amoled Display, but still Samsung announced a Mini Galaxy S3 with a 4-inch to compete with the iPhone 5. Soon after Galaxy S3 Mini was launched, we started to hear about Samsung Galaxy S IV. The rumors are very skeptical when it comes to mobile industry.

After releasing three different, smart phones in preceding months with different screen sizes of 4.0-inch, 4.8-inch, and 5.5-inch; Samsung is now planning to take the smart phone lineup to next level. This time the screen size with resolution would be changed. The Galaxy S4 Release Date is set for Annual Consumer Electronics Show that will take place in January 2013. No specific time or date has been announced for the event to take place.

Asia Economics reported on Friday that Samsung is planning to introduce a smartphone with a large 1920 x 1080 resolution display at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Other than the name and size of Galaxy S4, the smart phone is said to be the Flagship of Galaxy S series having a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED Display that packs with 441ppi (pixels-per-inch). This means the Korean company is in full swing to beat the Apple’s iPhone Market because the latest Apple Gadget is packed with 326ppi (Pixels-Per-Inch) and the display is called the Retina Display.

Samsung is going to combat the traditional Retina Display of Apple by delivering a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED Display with 441ppi. The real competition starts soon after the Galaxy S4 is launched. It is believed that Samsung Galaxy S4 will be packed with quad-core Exynos processor and 4G LTE capabilities.

As for now it is very early to state anything regarding this rumor because Samsung has denied all the rumors regarding the Galaxy S4 Release Date and regarding any Galaxy S4 is in production by them or they have planned to release any new version of their Flagship series.
