  • How to Get iPhone 5 640X1136 Resolution on iPhone Simulator

How to Get iPhone 5 640X1136 Resolution on iPhone Simulator

According to the latest leak by 9to5mac’s Mark Gurman suggested, that he has accomplished to run some Apps on the iPhone Simulator with the resolution of 640X1136. This is the same rumored resolution for the iPhone 5 display. This new resolution leaked some important face about the iPhone 5 that it will carry 5 rows of Apps scaling fit to a larger screen. Therefore, the larger screen is already at top of the rumors these days suggesting a new screen of 4-inch for the iPhone 5. The resolution is still unknown and people are coping up with this rumored resolution of 640X1136.

This resolution sounds to be cool but the time will tell about the real resolution. Anyways, after hearing about the iPhone 5 resolution in iPhone Simulator, many of you would be willing to give it a shot at your end, but couldn’t find a way to do it. To solve this issue, Cédric Luthi found a way on how to get the same resolution of the iPhone 5 on the iPhone simulator.

Earlier today, my friend Peter Steinberger asked if there is a way to tweak the iOS simulator device size. So I investigated, and found a pretty elegant solution. Without further ado, here is how to change the size of the iOS simulator in order to test your apps in resolutions never seen before.

Below are the steps that are pasted on his blog. The steps are relatively very simple and doesn’t require any hard or ninja skill to accomplish the method. All you need to do is download one file stated below and rest you need to follow the steps.

    1. Download File.txt into ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator(don’t change the name of File.txt)
    2. Edit/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platform/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/Applications/iPhone Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/Devices/iPhone (Retina).deviceinfo/Info.plist and add the following keys:<key>eagle</key> <string>640</string> <key>giraffe</key> <string>1136</string>
    3. Quit the iOS Simulator app

All you need to do is just follow the above steps correctly. Once done, you will be able to test the long rumored iPhone 5 resolution of 640X1136. This hack works on Xcode 4.1.1+ versions quite well.

    Don’t forget about September 12.

iPhone 5 Attachment Unveils measurement of 7.6mm, 18% Reduction

Staying up to date with the bombardment of the rumors regarding the iPhone 5 today comes a new bomb. This new bomb comes from Apple.Pro blog that posted new attachments of the iPhone 5 that were published in a Chinese News Paper Apple daily. Apple.pro got their hands on the newspaper Apple Daily and scanned out some important information regarding the iPhone 5. The newspaper is in Chinese claims to have done some homework over the measurement of the iPhone 5.

    iphone-5-measurement

The attachment of iPhone 5 measurement in the newspaper points towards the measurement of 7.60mm; where as rest of the measurements are same as the one that got leaked recently in the hands on prototype of the iPhone 5.

One manufacturer we spoke to said that he was sure that the leaked images were accurate – so sure that he was already preparing to construct iPhone 5 cases and he’d be willing to ship replacements for free if they turned out not to be perfect. He enumerated three big changes from the old iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5:

    1. The phone is much bigger, measuring 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thin. The screen is 4″.
    2. The earphone jack has been relocated to the bottom of the phone.
    3. The dock connector is much smaller, similar in size to micro USB.

iPhone is said to be 7.60mm in depth and 18% thinner than the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4S is 9.3mm in depth. The other difference will be made in the size of the screen. The iPhone 5 will feature a 4-inch screen.

All these rumors will end on September 12.

  • How a 4-inch iPhone 5 will look in Your Hands (Mockups)

How a 4-inch iPhone 5 will look in Your Hands (Mockups)

Since few months, we have seen many great mockups for the iPhone 5 than we might have seen any wonderful dream in our life. We have seen iPhone 5 more than a beautiful dream since May. All the beautiful mockups and rumors about the iPhone 5 have made us wander for the past few months and they have created a great hype among the users impatiently waiting for the iPhone 5. However, the date of September 12 is rock firm for the announcement of the iPhone 5. Still we are not able to see any proper design leak for the iPhone 5.

So far, we have seen the same old two-tone design mockup that arrived back in May and it is still arriving from different places in the form of parts, leaks, and videos. This time we will be seeing the same mockups of the iPhone 5 in a persons hand defining the look of the iPhone 5 in one’s hand. In other words, how will the iPhone 5 with a 4-inch screen look in one’s hand? To see about this, simply leave the responsibility on the mockups. They can well show the iPhone 5 looks in a consumer hand.

So below we got some pictures and a gallery full of Mockups is present here.

    Mockups:

    iphone5-4-inch-mockup

If we see the above Mockups of the iPhone 5 in two-tone colors of White and Black, we can see that the iPhone 5 would no longer be handy as compared to the iPhone 4/4S. Somehow, Apple has kept the same design as of the iPhone 4S/4 with change in the material. They have used Aluminum rather than the glass at the back.

It seems that Apple doesn’t wants to change the tradition of its flagship of iPhone’s. Apple wants to keep the same old design and just want to hookup with a larger screen. This 4-inch screen would more look like an Android Phone.

    What do you people think?

  • iPhone 5 UI Leaked in iOS 6 Beta 4 Suggesting a 4-inch Screen

iPhone 5 UI Leaked in iOS 6 Beta 4 Suggesting a 4-inch Screen

The rumors regarding the iPhone 5 are heating up before the official launch. Previously we have come across many rumors regarding the leaked images, parts, and videos of the iPhone 5. All those leaks had one thing in common. The common thing was the larger display of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is rumored to have a large display of 4-inch. Impressed by Samsung and other Cell Phones, Apple has planes for a large 4-inch display set for the release this fall. The rumor regarding the display was really a myth. However, now it is no more a Myth because the rumor has been converted into 100% confirmation.

The confirmation of a 4-inch display comes from no other company than Apple. Apple’s official iOS 6 beta 6 leaked the secret of the upcoming iPhone 5 that it will be getting a 4-inch display. This confirmation gets a firm weight by 9to5mac’s, Mark Gurman who digs into the recently released iOS 6 beta 4 and found out that the rumored resolution of 640X1136 fits perfectly in the latest iOS 6 beta version. Luckily, 9to5mac was able to play with the simulator with the iPhone 5-rumored resolution and found out that the resolution fits perfectly in iOS 6.

iphone-5-5-rowsThe same resolution was tested on a simulator iOS 5.1 public release and on the iOS 6 beta 4 Developer Build. The iOS 5.1 showed four rows of Apps on the same resolution, where as the iOS 6 simulation showed five rows of Apps.

Perhaps even more interesting is that the simulator will not correctly display five rows of icons at resolutions other than 640 x 1136. At other resolutions, the icons will scale to an iPad-like home screen layout, not at the proportions and spacing of the current iPhone and iPod touch display. This may just add another layer of proof that the next-gen iPhone display will come in at a resolution of 640 x 1136.

The simulator is capable of running the Apps on a taller display doesn’t means that Apple will be going with the same resolution or screen size. The screen size is strongly rumored to be 4-inch but the no words have been said on the resolution of the iPhone 5.

Anyways this is not an issue because the next-generation iPhone 5 is around the corner. We are only few weeks away from the official announcement of the iPhone 5. Once again, the dates for the media event of Apple are rock firm for September 12. In addition to media event, one thing is for sure that the Cupertino giant tech company will be unveiling the next-gen iPhone with a new larger screen.

    iphone-4s-sprint

The website says that the price bead is done due to promotional offer, where as we believe that the price drop has been due to the upcoming iPhone 5 Media Event. On September 12, Apple is reportedly having a Media Event on which they will be announcing the iPhone 5 with iOS 6. The date for the Media Event is rock firm. The rumors on the Internet are making more heat regarding the iPhone 5. The launch of the iPhone 5 is expected by September 21.  As far as the iPhone 5 is concerned, the leaked parts, images, and hands on video suggest that the iPhone 5 has been sent into production or is about to be sent into production.

Recently, the SIM Card Tray Frame of the iPhone 5 was leaked and it suggested an innovation is being done by Apple. Apple is going Nano this time to compete with its competitors.
