Knockoff iPhone 4 Charger Lands a 30-Year Old Chinese Man in Coma

In the second week of this month, we are back with the second case from China regarding the iPhone electrocution leading to death and sending people to coma. In the previous week, we told you about a 23-Year-Old Chinese Airhostess who was electrocuted by the iPhone 5 (possibly iPhone 4) while it was on charge. The reason of her electrocution was said to be a DC Volt landing in the iPhone battery that further led to death. While the investigation in progress, an alleged report surfaced stating about the main reason behind her death would be the use of third-party charger because they are made of low quality.

Now in the second week, we came across the same issue of iPhone electrocution that led a 30-year-old Chinese Man in Coma. Wu Jiantong, a 30-year-old Chinese Man, who was shocked by the iPhone 4 while he was placing it on charge. After getting shocked by the iPhone 4, he was admitted to I.C.U immediately at Hai Dian Hospital in Beijing.

According to xinhuanet, Wu Jiantong, 30 had yelled for help when the iPhone 4 while placing it on charge was shocking him. His sister connected to happening added that she ran over to help his brother after hearing him. She quickly turned of the charger to save his brother’s life.

“I then felt needle-like pains on my fingertips. The current was running from my finger, through to my arm and body, and to the foot,” said Wu’s sister. By then, her brother was not responsive, and was twisting and foaming at the mouth.

After the matter cooled down and Jiantong was taken care off, her sister told the authorities that the charger wasn’t a genuine Apple product; indeed it was a knockoff iPhone 4 charger. However, the iPhone and charger are not damaged. They both are in working condition.

  • Chinese Woman Electrocution by iPhone 5 Report Surfaced – Shocking Fact

Chinese Woman Electrocution by iPhone 5 Report Surfaced – Shocking Fact

Earlier this week we report about a sad incident that took place in China where 23 years old women became a victim of iPhone 5 electrocution while it was on charge. This was the first time when we heard about an iPhone being the culprit in recent years. When we came across this report of iPhone 5 electrocution, at first we didn’t believed because weeks before this incident, a Samsung Galaxy S4 exploded while charging and the possible cause of that incident was over heated due to over charging.

Therefore, we didn’t make any conclusion at that time and waited for the officials to respond in this matter of iPhone 5 electrocution. However, we did tell about possible reasons of the iPhone 5 electrocution while on charge and none of them was the reason of this incident. The alleged reason for the electrocution of the Ma Ailun was something different.

    knock_off_iphone_charger

That something different was a knock-off charger used by Ma while charging her phone and attending the call made her electrocute.

According to Xiang Ligang, a telecommunications expert interviewed by CCTV, the charger Ma had been using may have been a “knockoff” – a fake.

Knockoff chargers sometimes cut corners,” Xiang said. “The quality of the capacitor and circuit protector may not be good, and this may lead to the capacitor breaking down and sending 220 volts of electricity directly into the cell phone battery.”

On the other hand, reports claimed that the iPhone used by Ma was not the iPhone 5, instead of the iPhone 5 it was iPhone 4 that lead to this incident of electrocution. The iPhone 5 claim seems to be totally wrong because it is made of Aluminum and the iPhone 4 is made of stainless steel.

Hence the iPhone 4 can be the culprit of the case with counterfeit charger used for charging the iPhone.

Xiang said that normally, the electric current from an overloaded charger would overheat the phone’s casing, damaging the circuits inside and rendering the device unusable. In the case of Ma’s iPhone 4, however, authorities said the phone could still be started normally despite severe traces of burning on its exterior. The phone’s data cable, charger, and plug were all intact.

Police is still investigating the case to find the main reason that lead to electrocution and further it led to death of Ma Aliun. Other than the police, Apple has also vowed to look into the case and co-operate with the authorities in this matter.

iPhone 5 Electrocuted a 23 Years Old Chinese Woman in China

The advancement in smartphone technology has started to kill people. This might sound strange, but the fact is that a 23 Years Old Women in China was Electrocuted by Apple’s latest iPhone 5 while it was on charge. The story seems to be strange and unique in all these past years, where we have heard about smartphones catching fire on charge, but taking some ones live is a serious question. Recently we told you about Samsung Galaxy S4 went on fire in U.A.E of a woman who was sleeping and her Galaxy S4 was on charge. In the middle of the night, she woke up to see her toddler and found Galaxy S4 in flames.

She took an immediate action, due to which she was safe. But what about this Chinese Girl who was using the iPhone 5 while it was on charge. What made the iPhone 5 electrocute her?

The reports of iPhone 5 electrocution comes from a Chinese Micro Blog called Sin Weibo, where the elder sister of the victim claimed that her sister was shocked to death while charging the iPhone 5 and she wants an explanation from Apple regarding this case. Moreover, she urged users not to use any phone while it is on charge.

    Ma Ailun

After the incident took place in China, Apple issued a brief statement on this incident paying condolence to the family members of the victim and owed to investigate in the case to find the possible reason of electrocution.

In an another report from Sina Tech stated that Chinese Police has confirmed the death of Ma was done because of Electrocution, but they are not sure if the iPhone 5 was involved in the matter or not. The family has passed all the evidence to the police for further investigation into this matter.

On the other hand, China Consumer Association on May 7, 2013 issues a report stating that a mobile charger without CCC (compulsory product certification system) is not less than a grenade. To use a phone charger without CCC Certification can lead towards many incidents and this incident can be one of them.

The team of TechGlued also pays condolence to the family of the victim.

  • A Thief Drops his Samsung Galaxy Against Several iPhone Heist

A Thief Drops his Samsung Galaxy Against Several iPhone Heist

In past we have seen many cases regarding Apple iPhone Heist being done at different parts of the world with different style. The first robbery was done at London Apple Store prior to official iPhone 5 release day. Then second robbery was done at the airport from where a truck containing iPhone consignment was stolen. Following the second iPhone heist, the third robbery took place in Vancouver where the robbers used Bear Spray to loot the Apple Store. These three are well-known robbery cases. However, this doesn’t mean that the story of iPhone heist ends on these three.

iPhone is one of the most stolen Devices in the U.S and across the globe because of its popularity. The U.S law enforcement agencies aware the public to stay aware of iPhone thief’s while they are on the move because iPhone heist had increased in recent years. Even after having an increment in iPhone heist, by the end of the day, police used to catch almost every thief who was spotted on CCTV Footage or was traced by the mistakes he had made while robbing the Apple Store.

Every thief who robbed the Apple Store for the iPhone or for Apple Products had his own way of doing the job done. Some stole about Millions of worth products in 60 seconds from the Apple Store and some took their time to loot the Apple Store at different places.

    iphone_apple_store_stolen

But the thief about whom we are going to tell you would be the first of his kind who invited the police to catch him after robbing the Apple Store in Fairfax.

Earlier this week, a man of age 25 inspired by smash and grab heists broke into Fair Fax Apple Store to steal the iPhone’s put on display. On his way of smashing and grabbing the iPhone’s from display, the thief dropped his own Samsung Galaxy Phone as an evidence for the police to capture him after he has flown away from the scene.

According to Fairfax County police, the robber suspect named Travis Montgomery Snyder, 25, on Monday Eve in Remington broke into the store to steal the iPhone’s set on display was caught after his Samsung Galaxy Phone was founded. After the county police founded his phone, they traced the suspect and followed up the CCTV Camera footage to ensure that the suspect is the same and they are not making any mistake.

Later on, he might have gone to Jail or so.

The possible reason for the iPhone heist would be the plan of upgrading from Samsung Galaxy to Apple iPhone.

What do you think would be the reason behind leaving Samsung Galaxy?

  • Samsung Should Consider Making Fire Proof Flagships – Galaxy S4 on Fire

Samsung Should Consider Making Fire Proof Flagships – Galaxy S4 on Fire

Just imagine that you bought a new Galaxy S Flagship a month ago and it was released the preceding month of your purchase. Imagine the moment of happiness that you will be facing after buying the newly released Galaxy S handset. Lets suppose you bought a shinning Samsung Galaxy S4 and in the middle of night you smell something burning. When you get up to see what is burning and upon seeing you realize that Samsung Galaxy S4 that you bought a week ago is on Fire while it was on charge. What will be your reaction towards the situation? All the exciting moment of few days will be converted into grief moment and swearing on Samsung would be turned on.

This happens once in a lifetime or we can say hardly twice in a lifetime that people somehow end up burning their Samsung Galaxy S Flagship smart phones while one charge. In rear cases, people fake the burning issue to destroy the reputation and mostly the case of burning is genuine. In past we have seen the burning of Samsung Galaxy S3 in a users pocket and today we came across news that Samsung Galaxy S4 went on fire while it was on charge.

    galaxy_s4_on_fire

Any tech savvy person didn’t own the Galaxy S4 or any one who can fake the burning like it was done once for Samsung Galaxy S3. Indeed, a Girl named Sarah owned this unlucky Galaxy S4 Model. She bought the device on May 29, 2013, where as Samsung Galaxy S4 in Dubai launched a month ago.

“Sadly, one month later [after she bought the Galaxy S4], the phone was found burning, while charging. It’s only thanks to God that I woke up in the middle of the night and controlled the burning before it could cause damage to my home and family,” she wrote.

“I woke up in the middle of the night to [attend to] my toddler, and it was about 2am at night. I think it was charging for about 3 hours by then,” Sarah told emirates247.

After the report of Samsung Galaxy S4 on Fire in Dubai was published on Emirates24/7, Samsung Gulf took an action and responded to this issue immediately to secure its PR in Gulf. In response to this issue of Galaxy S4 on Fire, Samsung Gulf said:

“We have gotten hold of the product in question, and will be conducting a thorough examination to determine the exact cause of this incident. We would like to assure our customers that we have always employed strict quality control and safety standards to ensure a safe and pleasant user experience.”

We are glad that no one was hurt during the incident or the fire didn’t combusted at large to make a proper mess. Sarah handled the situation on time and now she has been provided a new Samsung Galaxy S4 with a Flip Cover in Replacement.

Our Analysis of Samsung Galaxy S4 Going on Fire:

We cannot tell the root cause of the issue that lead to Galaxy S4 on Fire. We can tell you the causes that might have led the Galaxy S4 on Fire.

First of all, it is a smartphone and not laptop that is being charged overnight. Every smartphone has its own charging time and should be pulled off when it’s charged at Full because the charging continues to supply power until it is not removed from the socket.

This is one of the major reasons that lead to burning issues. As we stated above that it’s a smartphone and not a laptop, therefore, it gets over heated and results in Firing up the charging port or some other issue.

The second cause can be the use of pirated cable or wall charger. Most of the time these things also help in causing fire due to short-circuit or so.

Third thing can be the issue at company’s end that they supplied a defected piece accidentally or didn’t checked every piece at their end.

    Conclusion:

We would recommend Samsung to start making Galaxy S Series Flagships Fire Proof after they have introduced Galaxy S4 Active as Water Proof and after seeing all the incidents of burnings.
